Custom Hangar Spotlight: A Walk Through Aviation History

Stop by the Boeing Store in Everett, WA to take a walk with us through aviation history. This one-of-a-kind Custom Hangar display took over 11 hours to install. It features more than 30 pieces of Custom Hangar merchandise. Take a seat in the DC-9 JTID Engine Cowling Chair to check out everything this display has to offer.

For 100 years, Boeing and its heritage companies-including McDonnell Douglas and North American Aviation – have led the world in aviation and aerospace innovation. We created these exclusive Custom Hangar pieces to share that amazing heritage with the world. We search aviation bone yards and other out-of-the-way locations to find rare artifacts and bring them to you. Skilled craftspeople refurbish and refinish these limited-edition objects by hand and place them into museum-quality display mountings fabricated with the same materials and tools Boeing uses to make its famous aircraft.

The Custom Hangar display is located at our largest Boeing Store at the Future of Flight in Everett, WA. The Future of Flight is the only commercial jet assembly plant the general public can tour in all of North America. The plant is home to the Boeing 747, 767, 777, and 787 Dreamliner production lines. It is the largest building by volume in the world.
